[All Spoilers] If you were to rank the Avatar Books from best to worst, what would your list look like?

I really hope this hasn't been done before, or I'm going to feel like such an asshole.

1. LOK Book 3 - Change

   Whether he's attracted for the normal reasons or because she smells especially sweet to him is vague in the book and even less clear on-screen; nonetheless, Bella falls hopelessly in love with Edward, which sets her on a dangerous path when a few nomad vampires show up in town, one particularly keen on tracking the human. Download twilight movie series free. On her first day at school, Bella appears to (visibly) nauseate her lab partner, Edward (Robert Pattinson). Turns out the scent of her blood is this vampire's 'brand of heroin,' and his struggle not to kill her causes an irresistible pull toward her. The weakest link, unfortunately, is Pattinson. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen), Twilight is full of funny moments--not all of which are intentional--and the casting, from Stewart to Bella's self-absorbed friend Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is spot-on.

Without a doubt my favorite book of any series. The revival of the Air Nation puts Korra into a position where violence suddenly isn't the answer, and Korra rises to the challenge. Then the Red Lotus appears, and all bets are off. The finale for Book 3 is my favorite episode of any series; it was powerful in a sense of Korra being beat, poisoned, and paralyzed with the intention of showing some more permanent effects than just walking it off. Start to finish, non-stop entertainment.

So much to pick from. Toph's introduction, Azula's transition to the spotlight, the Desert, Appa's Lost Days, Lake Laogai, Zuko's transition from antagonist to anti-hero, Sokka's transition from comic relief to useful protagonist, even the 'weak' episode The Cave of Two Lovers produced the super catchy 'Secret Tunnel' song and reintroduced Omashu as being under siege. And like Book 3 of LOK, it ends on a down note, with Aang just missing death via Azula.

The Book that started it all. Aang is a complicated hero who's trying to balance growing up and having the responsibilities of the world on his shoulders, Zuko is a complicated villain who's trying to win his father's approval by completing a snipe hunt, Katara is a complicated protagonist who's trying to master what was supposed to be a semi-lost art while trying to play mother to the Avatar and her older brother, Sokka is a simple comic relief character that the universe enjoys kicking around. The finale showed Avatar was not going off the air anytime soon, killing a love interest and a popular villain in one fell swoop.

The finale made its way to the USA Today, the International Business Times, and CBS News because of Bryke's willingness to push the envelope with respect to LGBT portrayals on Nickelodeon. The introduction of the Great Uniter Kuvira serves to mark the parallels to Korra, and show how Korra has matured. PTSD and mental illness play a major part, which only serves to highlight the story's dark undertones. One thing keeps it from ranking higher on my list; Nickelodeon's budget cuts. As much as I agree with the stance of not sending home animators because of budget cuts, I would have liked to have seen Beyond the Wilds split into two episodes just for the sake of artistic greatness. Zaheer gets his screen time cut short, and we're left wondering 'what if'. But Avatar still manages to make a great story out of a forced clip show, proving that the truth can't stop a good story.

The final book of ATLA did not disappoint. You want complex heroes? Zuko switches sides because his father's approval doesn't mean anything to him. You want complex villains? Azula's psychosis leads her to isolate herself and leads her to ruin. You want subterfuge stories? Book 3 takes place in the Fire Nation, and the Gaang infiltrates the nation in disguise. You want romantic subplots? The finale has you covered. You forget everything that happened in the show up to the finale? Fear not, the Ember Island Players will refresh your memory before Aang fights the Phoenix King.

I still like it, even if I have it 6th on my list. The problem for me is the length. 12 episodes is not enough to tell a complete story, which Bryke was forced to do because they did not know if they would produce more episodes. So they had to introduce Korra, her mentor, her team, the antagonist, a political storyline about an oppressed non-bending proletariat and the ruling class benders, a romantic subplot between Korra and a moody firebender, wrap everything up in a nice package in case these episodes were their last, and they were given half the size of ATLA Book 3 to do it. Not cool, Nickelodeon.

A perfect example of LOK getting screwed by the network, and I don't mean the time slot. The writing was subpar (in my opinion) because Nickelodeon ordered 12 episodes for LOK, which became Book 1. Book 1 wraps everything up neatly because Bryke was unsure if they would make more. Then Nickelodeon decided they were going to adopt the network standard of buying episodes in quantities of 26, so they ordered 14 more episodes. So then they had to make another story that wrapped up neatly, in case they didn't get picked up for any more. Then Nickelodeon picked up 26 more episodes, so Book 3 and Book 4 were created as a singular story, which allowed for much more character development and depth of storytelling. Just another example of Nickelodeon shooting themselves in the foot.
